Marathon County Radio System

Public Safety and Local Government Radio System Upgrade
Marathon County, Wisconsin

Edge Consulting was retained to provide telecommunication engineering services associated with replacement of the county wide Public Safety and Local Government Radio Communications System. The existing system was installed in the 1980’s and had reached the end of its useful life and needed to be modified to increase capacity, coverage and meet upcoming FCC standards. A detailed interoperability study was completed which recommended that a completely new hybrid VHF/UHF system be implemented.

Edge Consulting worked closely with the County, other consultants and contractors to implement the new system which included 16 communications sites. The sites included a mix of new towers, water tower installations and small repeater sites.
Edge Consulting provided environmental compliance, A&E and construction inspection services throughout the project.
